Apparent Grand Rapids road rage victim pinned against car as children watched

Michaelia Clark of Grand Rapids Michigan was caught in a bad road rage that left her with a broken pelvis.  The other driver pinned her between the two cars which broke her pelvis.  When he backed away she fell. Lying on the ground she looked up only to see the reverse lights on. She expected the driver to run her over as she yelled at her 7 year-old to get back in the car.  Just then neighbors who  witnessed the event came rushing out to save Michaelia.  The driver then sped away with his young child in the back seat.  The neighbors called 911 and an ambulance brought Michaelia to the hospital. The police are still trying to find the driver who hit Michaelia, and the have very few leads.   The police believe that the man intently hit Michaelia.  It all started when the man hit michaelia repediately and Michaelia got out of her car to ask what the man was doing. The man then got angrier and when Michaelia told him he weas going to jail he pinned her between the two cars.  Michaelia noticed a young child in theback seat through the broken windows as she was falling over.I think this kind of violence is crazy.  People shouldn’t get mad enough to hit some one and almost run them over, they shouldn’t even hit the other person’s car.  Yet in our society we have people like that.  I really can’t imagine what it must have been like for the kids.  i would hate to see something like that happen. I also don’t understand how you can get mad enough to almost run some one over  or hit their car multiple times.  If the police catch this man i definitely think he should go to jail.  By almost running her over he can be charged with attempted murder which has a penalty equal to murder, and i think he should be charged with attempted murder.  http://www.mlive.com/news/index.ssf/2008/03/apparent_grand_rapids_road_rag.html                                                Tim Larson

Wow, that is an interesting article. i think the whole thing is stupid about the guy hitting Michaelia’s car repeatidly in the first place and then to get mad after she threatend to call the police. I dont know what in the world would make a person do that and then to have a child in the car with them is realy making a ‘Bad impression’ and i agree that he should be charged with attempted mureder.

  2. I agree with you. That guy had two mistakes: firstly, he ran her over without caring about she might die. Also, he let his child saw that. That is a terrible thing to do. We have seen a lot of articles of teens that did illegal things(including murders). I think it came from what they have seen from their parents. We talk a lot about their bad actions but we do not really know why. That guy must be arrested.
Also, to support your idea, you should list some results of that actions like what children might react with that and what they can do when they grow up witht the effect of that action in their mind. By that way, your article would have more influence.

It is disappointing to find more and more cases of violence. What has our society come to? Are other countries this violent? I mean look at the number of gun deaths in America – how can we excuse that?
I don’t understand how those neighbors could have witnessed the incident and only rushed out to help after the lady fell. How disappointing. Were they afraid that they would get hurt too? What happened to self-sacrifice? And the poor child! To witness it and have that man possibly be his father.
I agree, he should go to jail. If he didn’t attempt to run her over though, I don’t think that should be a reason for attempt of murder – but perhaps you’re right with his attempt to murder her with his extreme violence.
    Good job, interesting article.

I agree. that’s ridiculous that people in our modern time actually get that mad about somethinig so stupid. We overeact about the simplest things. It’s horrible also, that our children have to be raised in such an environtment. I think that our future generations are going to be so messed up because of it. It will probably result in so many more murders and a lot more violence and crime because they have been brought up with it. The guy should definately be put in jail. I just feel bad for the child, knowing what he will soon go through if his father gets caught. but i guess it’s better for him to stop viewing the violence now before it gets worse.

I heard about this story on the radio the other day. It’s so crazy the world we live in today . Where little children are witnessing terrible crimes, some on a daily basis. And this only leads to more corruption, because being brought up like this in such a violent world can only lead for these kids to become violent in their adult lives as well. It scares me so much to know how much anger people have these says. And why? All because someone cut them off or drove too slow in front of them..

that is really sad because he was willing to kill someone because he was mad she siad he was going to jail. what is the world comming to.

  8. I actually read about this story, well heard about it on the news a while ago. Its crzy how road rage can get that out of hand. Especially how the dude had a child in the car and she did too. He obviously knows how to set an example.

it is extremely sad to see how someone could do something like that. I know earlier this school year I witnessed some first hand road rage and im glad it didn’t go on any further than what it was because I wouldn’t have wanted anyone hurt. Wow.
