Man killed in Wendy’s shooting, went back for child’s toy.
As we all know there is a lot of violence in america. This is just another example of all the problem this country has with crime and how random and pointless it can be. In west Palm beach florida, Rafael Vazquez, a fire rescue lieutenant, was shot and killed in a random shooting. When Rafael went back inside the Wendy’s to get a toy for his daughter a 60 year old man came out of the bathroom and shot him. The man then continued to shoot other people in the building. After hitting four people with a 9-mm he shot and killed himself. The shooting seems to be random and police can not figure out why it occurred. The four others who were injured were a 63 year old man, a 62 year old woman, a 16 year old girl, and the 16 year old’s mom, who was not hit but was injured while fleeing. Wendy’s is helping all they can with the investigation and offers their thoughts and prayers to the families. Police have not found a suicide note and the shooter was not a former employee which makes it very hard for investigators to figure out the cause. I can not believe what it must be like for the family who lost some one. This story shows just how bad America can get. We hear lots of stories in the news about how bad some of the other countries are, but we don’t hear how much violence there is here, where we live. Shootings like these are becoming more and more common, this sounds really bad but its almost like they are becoming a regular occurrence. And of course we aren’t hearing about all the gang related shootings that happen, probably multiple times, everyday. I think we should be focusing more on stopping shootings like this than fixing other countries problems. Maybe when we dramatically reduce violence like this we can help other countries. the only difference between the U.S and other countries is that we don’t usually worry about losing some one special to us everyday, when it is almost just as likely to happen here as in other countries. http://www.wpbf.com/news/15474521/detail.html Tim Larson

violence is more than out of hand now, especially in grand rapids if you look at the increase in gang violence. you guys should focus on more broad violence instead of just specific examples, though.

I 100% agree with you when you say that shootings like this has become a thing of reacurence. I have seen many, many shootings like this in the past few months in the news. It is just sad that you have to be afraid to go out and get a burger now. I believe that at restaurants should have more sercurity so that this does not happen again

this goes to show just how senile some 60 year-olds are.
you would expect something this crazy to come from some emo 16 year old or something.
Wendy’s is a pretty respectable restaurant, too. i could see this happening at a McDonalds perhaps, but not a Wendy’s.

I think random violence is the worst kind of violence. Its sad when people are shot, stabbed and killed for no reason at all. These can be related to to the random school shootings were the people kill spur of the moment, which is just stupid. I think it would be better if only the army and National Guard were the only people with guns.

Violence in america has reached an all time high. Is crime in this country getting so out of control that now you can eat in a restaurant without being afraid that something bad is going to happen to you? It used to be that crimes only happened at night. Something needs to be done about this. We need to fix problems here instead of fixing other countries problems.

It is really sad how people can just go off and shoot others. If they were just going to kill themselves then why not do it without killing others in the process. It is just stupid to go and kill others when you can stop your suffering without killing others.

It is really ridiculous how many random shooting happen now days. It’s really sad how many people run around the world with gun acting like it is a toy. I think that they need to be a lot stricter on who guns are being sold to now a days and guns need to be more protected because of easy it is for them to land in the hand of someone who doesn’t not have the right to have one. Random shootings like this are simply not acceptable in any part of the world.

yea i agree with the comments above, it is sad at what things people do to others and their motives seem to be so silly sometimes. [hence the "wooooow" in my first comment]. violence is such a major issue which seems to never cease to exist and im pretty sure it never will. if only we could end the majority of it instead of just affecting our areas.
